The design process
Thread Count
When it comes to choosing the perfect bed linen, it’s easy to become overwhelmed. If you’ve ever wondered what thread count means or dithered on the right one to choose, you’re not alone. Our bed linen collections are available in 200TC, 400TC, 600TC, 800TC and 1000TC, with 400TC being our most popular. Choose from cotton sateens and percales, along with pure linen and organic cotton.
Samples
Once you have selected your preferred qualities of sheeting, we will provide samples for you to review and approve. This ensures the final product meets your exact specifications and expectations. At this point we can also discuss the option of purchasing one of our sample packs, perfect for presenting our products to your client.
Design
Our bed linen can then be customised with ribbons, trims and embroidery. Choose from one of our many collections including Corded Stich, Cascais Scallop, Arran, Forest Fern, Ladderstitch or Linden. Or would you like to create something really special and have a bespoke embroidered design created just for you? We love working on new designs!
Colour
As part of our design process, you can customise your linens with a choice of over 400 thread colours and 60 luxurious grosgrain ribbons. This allows you to create a truly unique finish that perfectly matches your vision and style.
Personal Touch
Add a personal touch to your linens with custom monogramming. Whether it’s your initials, or a full name, our design team can help bring your vision to life. Choose your font from our collection, or send us your own, this is the perfect way to make your linens truly unique, adding a touch of elegance and individuality to your home.
Proof & Approval
After discussing your choices, we can provide digitised drawings of your bed linen designs. At this stage we can easily make amendments or provide guidance and options. In addtion, our passion for the perfect look means we also provide A4 samples on request on your pillowcase design. This is the perfect opportunity to see your vision.
Delivery
Once you have confirmed your final choice, allow 4-6 weeks to recieve your order. Gilly Nicolson take every care and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process. We remain true to our founding principles of combining the finest materials and traditional craftsmanship. As a result, you receive linen of exceptional quality and lasting beauty.

Please allow 4-6 weeks for production, from time of payment. If you require embroidered samples, allow an extra 2 weeks.

We recommend a 40 degree wash for all our linens, all of which can be tumble dried on a low heat. Please avoid detergents with optical brightners, if you have a coloured trim, as over time, the brighteners will start to fade the colour.
