As a designer of luxury linens, we are not guided by trends as such, we respond to the personal preferences of our clients. Preference and personal taste play a significant role in interior design choices. Being reliant on trends can lead to designs that quickly become outdated. The key is to incorporate trends selectively, ensuring they enhance the overall design without compromising its longevity or the client’s needs. The same applies to bed linen.

In saying that, as we live in an ever-evolving world, we can’t help but be influenced by cultural, societal, and environmental factors. They reflect the collective preferences and moods of a given period. As a designer myself, I find it immensely interesting to understand the fusion between fashion and interiors. It has become particularly prominent in design. Similar to clothing styles, interior design often draws inspiration from fashion trends. The same applies to colour and fabric trends, they can convey a specific emotion or message, contributing to the overall aesthetic of a room.

I have picked out a few bedroom trends which we will be taking inspiration from this year. We will simply draw elements from these trends, whilst first and foremost, continuing to respond to the needs of our clients. 

Biophilic Design

Biophilic Design: we have seen this growing trend for a while now but is set to become even bigger this year. By bringing nature into your room, biophilic design aims to improve productivity, reduce stress, and enhance overall quality of life and most importantly sleep! Key benefits include: 

  • Enhanced creativity and productivity: exposure to nature has been linked to increased creativity and productivity, making your bedroom a more versatile and inspiring space. 
  • Better sleep: natural light and ventilation contributes to a healthier sleep environment, regulating circadian rhythms. 
  • Calming atmosphere: natural materials, plants, or nature inspired décor creates a calming and serene ambiance. 

 

Influenced by our botanical surroundings, our Fern design was introduced last year. This design is proving very popular and we will continue to introduce new botanical designs this year. If you want to create your own design, simply send us your ideas and we will transform your linens.

Neutral Hues | Calm Infusion

  • Neutral Tones with Pops of Colour: this is music to our ears as we love adding a pop of colour to our linens, whether it be a ribbon, trim or embroidered logo. Combining these with calming neutral tones helps to create that sanctuary space we all strive for. We will see a focus on cozy and calming atmospheres, with these neutral colour palettes, layered textures like chunky knit blankets and throw pillows, sustainable and natural materials for furniture, and minimalist design with functional storage solutions. 

 

Neutral colours such as soft whites, warm beiges, and earthy greys provide the perfect canvas for designing a tranquil oasis within your bedroom.

Ruffled Radiance: From Runways to Bedrooms

Ruffles – perfect timing for the launch of our “Nairn” Ruffle Bed Linen Collection! For the most part, ruffles are applied to cushions and table linen, adding a bit of fun and whimsy to our homes. It’s usually matched with a gingham print, ice cream shades or candy cane stripes. Simply perfect for a child’s bedroom.

Our new design adds a touch of elegance and femininity to any bedroom. This crisp, soft and luxurious cotton will entice you into bed each night. This design is reminiscent of the ruffled trims from catwalk fashion. A great example of the fusion between fashion and interiors. Everything is currently covered in bows, and we’re certain that they’re going to get even more popular as 2024 fashion trends take shape. We have seen countless rosettes, ribbons, and ruffles on the runways, meaning we’re in for a year of feminine, girlish fashion.
