Customisation: Distinctive luxury which is truly unique to you

At Gilly Nicolson, we’ve gone back to the real core of what is essential to you and your lifestyle, distinctive luxury, which is truly unique to you. We believe bespoke products are pushing ahead now as people are no longer willing to compromise with pieces for their home that aren’t exactly to their requirements.

We live in a world where people are increasingly conscious of what they buy and use and are celebrating and promoting individuality. It is therefore important, more than ever, that we continue to evolve and respond to the requirements of our customers.

We believe that our customers are more likely to feel a sense of ownership for the products which they have invested in through customisation – products which they have created from their ideas and are true to their individuality. Here we explore the different customisation options available, which will truly bring your aspirations to life.

The Monogram Phenomenon

Monogramming adds the ultimate touch of luxury. It serves as a decorative purpose: it allows the owner to send a message about her or his personal style. It provides a product which is unique to the individual. Add 1, 2 or 3 initials or even a first name to bed linen, table linen, towels or bathrobes. You can choose from over 400 thread colours – it’s all about choice and we want to offer as many options as possible.

Choice of Colour

When it comes to colour, we strive to bring you as much choice as possible. The perfect shade of slate grey or the softest, powder blue, whatever you need we hope you’ll find it here. Choose from over 400 corded stitch colours and over 60 grosgrain ribbons for your bespoke bed linen, table linen and towels.

Choice of Sheeting

We believe in choice – be that for design, colour or trim. We don’t just stop there though, for your bed linen, you can choose from white or ivory sheeting in 200, 400 or 800 threads/sq.inch. Our 400tc sateen is by far our most popular, with some people using our 200tc for their kids’ rooms or rental properties. But don’t be deceived, it’s still beautiful quality and Gilly’s choice in her own home. Our 800tc is irresistible! We also offer 600tc and 1000tc and have other colours available too.

If you’re wondering about percale or sateen, we would describe it like this – percale is a tighter weave of cotton often used in hotels. It often feels cooler and crisper. Sateen is blissfully soft but not silky. It softens more with time and is used by our interior design friends all over the world.
